General Details

India4EU project provides all beneficiaries with a free insurance coverage. This covers their unexpected medical expenses during their mobility. It also provides accident cover and protects them against some costs arising from civil liabilities.

The insurance scheme is composed as follows:

- health and travel assistance, through a specific EuropAssistance policy

- civil liability provided by INA Assitalia

- personal accident (invalidity and death), provided by INA Assitalia

This coverage also applies during periods of travel during the mobility.

Who is covered?

All India4EU grant holders are provided with the insurance coverages described above. Enrolment in this insurance scheme is automatic for all India4EU scholarship holders and does not involve additional costs for beneficiaries.

What exactly is covered?

India4EU grant holders are insured worldwide. Beneficiaries are not covered for pre-existing conditions, conditions for which treatment can wait until they return home, AIDS, mental illness, or non-urgent dental care.

The insurance contract embraces cover for all of the situations set out in the terms and conditions (see Key Documents below): you are advised to check these documents carefully.

How can I contact the insurance companies?

The scheme is paid directly by the India4EU Consortium and does not imply any additional costs for India4EU grant holders.

If you have health problems or a travel inconvenient, you must immediately contact the EuropAssistance Operation Centre directly:

If a third part liability case or a personal accident occurs to you while doing your mobility study/work activities, you must contact the Project Coordinator (Politecnico di Torino) by email at emecw@polito.it.

Where am I covered?

The insurance covers all India4EU beneficiaries worldwide against risks related to health, accidents, and civil responsibility while they are participating in the mobility. This means you are covered when you travel to your Host University from your home country, when you attend conferences, research trips or cultural sessions abroad. You are also covered during short trips back to your home country.

When am I covered?

You are covered from the moment when you leave your normal place of residence to go abroad to begin your mobility. The policy is valid while you are abroad until you return home at the end of your mobility period.

Are my partner and children covered?

Beneficiaries' partners, children or other family members are not covered by the India4EU insurance scheme.
